We see you!

Whilst you may have been diagnosed with a “chronic condition” we want to remind you that “chronic” does not mean the same as "permanent". It means, lasting at least 3-6 months (oh and we know it may be more like 3-30 years for some of you!).

Often these conditions (or even worse, the people suffering from it) are labeled as complicated or “difficult”. However we simply see them as complex; constructed of multiple predisposing, precipitating and perpetuating factors that impact multiple systems in the body and often come with more than one diagnosis. Yet, we see the human behind the label, we hear your story, your struggle, and most importantly we see and believe in your potential.

We recognise that your time, energy and finances are extremely precious and treat them that way. We work with you because we believe things can change for the better, whether that be in a reduction/resolution of symptoms, improved function, increased sense of connection and/or expansion in meaningful life engagements.

What do we mean by “Recovery”?

We are aware that this may be a confronting word for some when dealing with certain chronic invisible illness diagnoses.

Are we suggesting that you will absolutely return to a symptom free/pre-illness state? Not necessarily, and also, maybe! We acknowledge both ends of the spectrum and everything between that. With time, support and the implementation of a truly holistic method that allows you to get to know your body in depth and embody self care that allows your system to repair and thrive, some people can reach unfathomable levels of health, wellbeing and function. We’ve seen it many times for people diagnosed with every single label listed on this page.

For others, recovery may be depicted by a recovery of a sense of self, an alleviation of secondary suffering from the psychological turmoil that was previously offered by the physiological dysfunction. It may feel like recovery of sovereignty in a health care model that has been disempowering when suffering of chronic illness. Recovery of joy, laughter,  trust and a sense of awe for life despite the state of health.
